Dust Storm!

Hey everyone!

Things are doing great! We had a pretty crazy dust storm this last weekend but everything has calmed down and is back to normal. 

Juan Jose has gone through just about everything this past month but is now working full time again! He went to church on Sunday with his family and is participating really well. They only need to print out one of their birth certificates and put a date for their wedding. We are going to visit them later today to see if they were able to put a date down and everything. 

Transfers are next week to we hope we can get everything settled in this coming with with Juan.

Lots of great things going on in our zone as well, wish I had more time. Love you all see you next week!

Zone Conference!

Hey Everyone!

Summer looks like it started really well! Hope everyone is healthy and happy.

This last week we had our annual Zone Conference. To prepare ourselves we were asked to study "Repentance" in Preach My Gospel and "Let This Settle in Your Heart", I`ll see if I can find it and send it to your guy. In the words of President Bird, "Repentance is one of the greatest opportunities that we have to be taught by the Savior". Repentance is a change, and helps us grow and learn. Sincere repentance comes from the heart.

President Bird also gave us his final testimony, in ten days we will get to meet our new President and his wife!

We found a new Investigator who is really excitd to be baptized. We found Alonzo in our area book from some past missionaries who visited him one time. When I first saw his address, I was pretty sure it didn`t exist, it was on the largest street in the area with a number that we thought didn`t even exist. We started at the beginning of the street and followed it until the end. One of the final houses without a number turned out to be Alonzo`s house. We explained a little about "The Plan of Salvation" and "Baptism," because his wife passed away. Alonzo is 69 years old with alot of great beleifs. 

We also have electricity in our house again! We only had electricity in half of our house for two weeks, someone robbed a fuse from our fuse box.

Everything is moving along smoothely, we have food, water and a roof over our head! Spanish is coming along great! See you all next week!

Hat Shopping!

Hey Family,

Hope summer is going great, and that everyone is having a good time with all the activities coming up. The temperature keeps climbing here every day. The church noticed how hot it gets here so they gave us permission to wear hats and sunglasses! That means i`m going to find the biggest sombrero I can find! 

This week we will be having our last Zone Conference with President and Sister Bird, they`ve asked us to study "Repentance,"  in Preach My Gospel and come prepared with a spiritual experience. 

We were surprised this last Sunday, when a less active member that found us. He came to church with us. Ferrando is 52 years old and we were actually teaching his sister in my last area. Ferrando was baptized 12 years ago but he has had a lot of heath problems that keep him from leaving the house. We`ll see how it was for him to go back to church, tomorrow when we visit him!

I`m also playing the piano in church! Sometimes on P days I have time to practice a hymn. I've also started reading The Book of Mormon in spanish for our language study! If I stay on track I`ll be able to finish by the end of summer! Join me if you want!

¡Feliz Pascua!

Happy Easter Everyone!

It`s pretty wet today, it`s been raining for about 8 hours now. I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend and that everyone is doing good.

Easter was pretty cool to see here in Mexico, there are a lot of different celebrations and traditions that the people do here to remember Jesus Christ. The celebrations went on for about a week. The majority of the people here are Catholic, we got to see them parade around our area as they did cool native dances and dressed up in native clothing. The whole week is called Semana Santa, Friday is the day when Christ made his sacrifice and payed for our sins and errors. Nobody works, all the stores are closed, and everyone is in church. It was a petty cool experience to see the peoples traditions here.

This coming weekend, we are going to listen to the Prophet and our church leaders. More than 2000 years ago, King Benjamin in the Book of Mormon organized his people to share the message of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The story of King Benjamin is our first General Conference that we have on record. The multitude of all the people was so large that they built a tower and wrote all the word of King Benjamin so the people could receive the revelation that Christ will be born, die for us, and make it possible for us to repent if we come unto him. Thanks to Him, we will have the opportunity to live with him and our families forever!

Mexico CCM District 6A Despedida

We Have Our Flight Plans!

Hey everyone,

We have our flight plants to Monterrey! We will be leaving the CCM at 3:00 A.M. in the morning, everyone is really excited to get into the field. We have some really long days ahead of us to prepare us for the field, all of Friday will be classes. 

I have learned some pretty great things about the Atonement this past week. It´s definitely one of the hardest things to teach and the most difficult thing to understand. Hno. Gomez shared a great video with us about "The Atonement and Missionary Work". In the video, Elder Holland said "If it wasn't  easy for Him, how do we expect the work to be easy for us." Hno. Gomez has also been blowing our minds with the talk "Why 1820" by Hyrum W. Smith. I highly recommend watching or listening to them. 

The Mexico MTC is great, I am definitely going to miss it.
